The blinding lights of dreams have faded

along the path of a life that never ends, while

memory lingers in the faded gaze of illusions

upon an old face—smooth from a youth that exists no more.

It tells of a life worn down by time,

a life that still journeys on amidst the wrinkles of the face,

barefoot, in the dust of the wind.

life that has not forgotten the good it gave,

that has reckoned with evil, and now calls in the debt owed to it.

It matters not how long it takes,

how much life must pass before you can enjoy it,

but that day will come.

Do not count the disappointments and betrayals,

forget the sorrows and the tears of abandonment. Forget!

Do not destroy the good you once were; gather it from the past

and turn it into a seed to be sown in the soil of the future.

Do not let life’s evils sink the dreams of your heart into the darkness of resignation.

Your heartbeat teaches the earth the rhythm of life,

which does not dance without your music,

which does not sing without your words.

Your heartbeat teaches the sky about love;

it has no identity without your breath,

it knows no love without your heart.

Your heartbeat teaches mankind about dignity,

which holds no value without respect and humanity.

The blinding lights of dreams have faded

along the path of a life that never ends, while

memory lingers in the faded gaze of illusions upon an old face—

smooth from a youth that exists no more.

Do not let life’s evils

sink the dreams of your heart into the darkness of resignation.

Your heartbeat teaches mankind about dignity,

which holds no value without respect and humanity.

which holds no value without respect and humanity.

The blinding lights of dreams have faded.

The blinding lights of dreams have faded.

The blinding lights of dreams have faded.
